We bought this collar first because it is much smaller than the Sigma. Overall it works well - stays tight and holds the lens in place for long exposures (5-10 seconds with an ND filter and still sharp) but there was one thing we just couldn't get used to: it had a tendency to sag. or move down a little if you're trying to get a close shot. We really did notice a difference between this and the Sony 70-200mm 2.8GM built-in collar. There is never any downward drift with this lens ring. So when we encountered this with the Sigma (particularly when extending it to 400mm) we decided to give the Sigma mount a try. So far we haven't seen such a drift, although it has occurred to a small extent once or twice, definitely less conspicuous than Haoge's. So is it worth paying twice as much for Sigma? Depends on how you use it - if you're using it in situations where tight framing and holding position is very important, Haoge will probably start to annoy you after a while. If you don't use your lens in this way, the Haoge makes a good solid tripod.
