This balaclava keeps us warm when we wear it. My older children (teens and teenagers) and I share it, although it is suitable for my younger children as well. We all love the unique features of this balaclava, the presence of a drawstring to pull the face nice and snug to keep SNOW out when you go sledding. down the slope, and also a 2 piece feature. When it wasn't that cold outside, we wore the neck part as a headband around our ears. It's SUPER soft and protects our ears from the wind and cold when it's not cold enough outside to wear both pieces, but cold enough that we need weather protection. The neck pad is SOFT on the inside and lined with dreamy microfleece. . I love that my hair does NOT go crazy and full of static when I put it on my ears like when we use knitted ear loops. I'm not at a fashion show when I go, but it's still nice NOT to have static hair on end. If we get too hot while walking, we can simply take our ears out of the ear warmer and use it as a headband only. LOVE the many ways to wear it! The headgear/hood has the same DREAM microfleece on the inside and a polyester blend at the bottom of the bib area and where the front frames the face. It's COMFORTABLE, very WARM and easy to adjust. After seeing the photos of the product when I wrote my review I can see that we wore it "WRONG" with a neck pad OVER the bottom of the hood, but it served us well that way. Now that I've seen the "RIGHT" way to wear it, I'll give it a try. lol Overall this is a GREAT balaclava that blocks wind, snow, sleet, hail etc. It's GOOD to have 2 parts. I would buy it again.
