It's very easy to wrap long hair on it but the hair clips that come with ends don't hold the ends well. I used either small bobby pins or sewing clips. Both can withstand boiling water to keep hair in curls. I let my hair dry a bit before taking it out so it cools down properly and holds the curl better. I really don't think that if you used them on your natural hair you would be able to sleep in them because it would be incredibly painful so I would suggest using some sort of hair dryer that would dry it out very quickly due to a small amount of hair that you would put in them.
