Housing issues Dorman 13636

The good first: This housing (Dorman 13636) fits my internal OEM electronics and works perfectly. Now for the bad: As others have said, the buttons also stick out a lot and unlocked the rear window many times on my 2011 Suburban. I spoke to Dorman about this issue but they had no solution. What I find interesting is that I bought a Dorman 99154 with a transmitter and this case is fine. The keys are slightly sunken and don't cause any problems. I can see where the two cases are slightly different. I asked Dorman if they sold the cases that came with the 99154 without a transmitter, but they told me they didn't. The second thing that happened 3 days ago was that part of the back of the case just broke off. The case is only 5 months old and looks like new except for the broken part. Nobody tried to open it and it still works fine. I've had OEM cases for over 8 years and apart from being scratched and the part where you press the buttons was badly worn, not a single part of the plastic has cracked or broken. The case was to last much more than 5 months.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
