Review on BEAMTECH Headlight 8000Lumens Extremely Conversion Lights & Lighting Accessories in Bulbs by Austin Hearshman

Installed in a 1997 BMW 328iPro: color temperature very white. New cars these days have very white Xenon or LED headlights so installing them on my 20 year old car really refreshes the look of the car. They don't have fans, so they're quiet and there are no moving parts to fail. Cons: After a few cycles, my car's computer finally noticed that these bulbs draw less power than standard halogen bulbs and gave me a "Low Beam Failure" message. . I understand I can get a kit to remove this message. My guess is that the kit is a resistor connected in parallel with the bulb, so it draws the same amount of current as a halogen bulb. That would be fine, but since one of the reasons I tried LEDs was their low power consumption, the kit outweighed some of the reasons for using LEDs. I understand that it is possible to reprogram the car not to check for headlight failure. I can find a shop that can do that. Since this bulb has two light sources that illuminate at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock (on this car) I wasn't expecting a pattern as clean and smooth as the halogens, but surprisingly the pattern isn't bad at all on this car. Some reviews say you can adjust the pattern by loosening the Allen screw and twisting the bulb. This is incorrect. The orientation of the lamp is fixed by slotted holes in the headlight housing. By loosening the screw, the heat exchanger can be rotated to the correct vertical position for optimal airflow. BTW I would be wary of using any LED in a housing where a rubber boot covers the back of the lamp. I assume they won't have enough air to cool them down. I can't measure the light output but I'm guessing it's about the same as the Silverstars I got. The difference is more in color than brightness. It is in order. I don't want to dazzle oncoming drivers. TO UPDATE. A year later the headlights still work great. Still happy with them.
