I think most people who buy these need to drill holes for mounting. I installed them on my 2007 Harley-Davidson Roadking and had to drill and cut holes to install them. It's ok, hold them in place, drill holes, remove, drill holes, then install with red elbow on the screws. After assembling everything needed, installation only took about 30 minutes (I drilled and cut a piece of metal to make sure the hole and threads were correct before drilling and cutting the planks). Great product, thick metal material and nice chrome finish. They should last a while with proper care, as should the rest of the chrome on the bike. I am very happy and satisfied with them. My child has new jewelry.
