Precise replacement of the key body
If you understand the mechanics and have sufficient skill, the original key blank can be exchanged for a new key fob. You need to disassemble the upper part of the body and knock out the kingpin. I tried swapping the key with its rotating holder but when I put the fob back together it got stuck in the case. You will then find that this vintage key no longer fits in the holder without modification (files required). so the holes for the pins match). Don't forget to replace the tiny chip (magnet?). It requires some skill, but it's doable.
