This product did not completely remove the smell from clothes I bought online. Someone used smelly fabric softener and detergent before selling it to me. The stench was so terrible that I had to put my clothes in the shed. So I bought this product and soaked my pants and then washed them. I had to repeat this and the soak actually removed some of the paint from the pants. They were black and I saw a black residue in the water when I went to rinse. While the pants don't look faded, they definitely washed out some of the color. I would use this product again because that stinky detergent smell is worse than the possibility of not being able to wear a garment because the color might bleed a little. I would say it worked, 70% of the smell was gone after the second use.
