Let me start by saying that I'm comparing them to the Turtle Beach Recon 70. I'm a 40 year old "gamer". But not really. I grew up gaming but NEVER used a headset until this year. I was using my son's Turtle Beach Recon 70 headphones and decided it was time to get my own. I pretty much only play Apex Legends, so this is the game I'm using as a test, and I only play on Xbox. felt comfortable enough. The padding is good and in fact the headband had plenty of padding and was quite comfortable. Headphones were a bit small though. When I bought them, I was concerned that they were round and not oval. Well, the round wasn't the problem, it was the depth. It was a bit flat so my ear only touched part of the speaker (and I'm a standard 5'8" guy with medium ears). They generally felt bulky too. built in volume control. I thought it would be very good. Well it didn't turn out well in the end I sling the cable (generally) over my shoulder so it doesn't get in the way when I'm gaming Well this headset has the volume and mute controls high so when I pull the cable put it over my shoulder the volume control is there. This got really annoying every time I wanted to mute the sound. I found myself wishing it was more like the Recon 70, which had a "flip to mute" -function.For a PC this is good because your cpu can be farther away and a long cable would be great but if the volume knob was next to the connector it would be bad.So can't really fault the design,it's basic not what I wanted. There s cord is wrapped with an elastic material, which makes me feel very confident that the cord will last a long time and not easily damaged. The sound quality is really good. Compared to the Recon 70 it's got a little deeper/more bass, maybe a little muddy, but not by much. I really can't complain too much about a $30 headset. I had no trouble hearing footsteps etc. In the end, I just wasn't comfortable enough and there weren't many of them. I decided to return them after two uses and received a refurbished pair of Recon 200s for $40.
