So far, so good. for fish and aquatic animals
I ended up buying a fish on impulse (setting up the tank and circulating the biomedium taken from the installed filter) and this product has worked wonders to make the tank fully functional. Did a 100% water change before adding and no ammonia or nitrite since. (The tank used to have 2ppm ammonia and was down 0.25ppm or less every day, so not a lot of bacteria but not enough to work with fish.) Be sure to plan for future tank adjustments and water changes use.
