Review on ๐Ÿ” Enhanced Dish Tripod: Stable, 3 Feet Tall with Built-In Level and Compass by Mark Colbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product with a few small quirks.

I bought this to mount a yagi style antenna and it works great for that purpose. It's a bit heavier than I would like but I knew that before ordering and it's a testament to the solid construction. It's plastic, but good plastic. The legs are foldable (or easily detachable) and the mast detaches as well. then a small elastic string that you attach to the bottom to hold it. My antenna has almost no wind load so I doubt I'll use it, but anyone mounting a dish or parabolic antenna would probably want it. They are separate from the block, but there are places to place them in the middle part. The spirit level snaps into place and seems relatively secure, but the compass is mostly loose. The instructions state that the compass must be removed before use so that the mast and other components do not affect the readings. It makes sense, but because it's portable, I see that the compass is easy to lose. Another thing is the adjusting screw for the mast. You stick it through the hole in the center section and then screw it on to tighten the mast, which works great. However, because it's portable (once again), it's another component that's easy to drop and lose. I use a screw so I'm more worried about losing it than the compass. But, it's really a small detail, and if I put another nut on it (from the outside), then the set screw can't fall out. In general I am very satisfied with the purchase. If the compass was attached somehow and the turnbuckle was a little better designed I would give 5 stars.

Pros
  • 3 feet high | Kit includes 1.66" OD mast
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
