Review on Komelon 7425 MagGrip 25ft Magnetic Measuring Tape: Unparalleled Efficiency at Your Fingertips by Jessie Drury

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best in hand - Best magnet - Best knife

First, I'm a professional carpenter. I used this tape like crazy, if you know any drywall work you know how many measurements you have to take over and over again quickly. All day, all week, a few months to renovate the high school. From there to use with a drywall ripper for large soft and steel stud walls and soft construction. Uses it to lay out on the floor, walls and ceiling/deck. Used it to stuff tons of acoustic curb tiles. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT. I could be 6 feet from a metal pin in my elevator, shoot at it until a strong magnet lands on the pin, and then run the elevator another 10 feet in the opposite direction without removing the sheet/magnet before removing it want. . It just worked fine but the best part is how it feels in my hand, compact not bulky, the texture of the plastic is nice. The spring/return loosened, I think too quickly at first, so I considered getting a different type. Went to a big hardware store, checked all the magnets to see how they felt. Everything felt cheap and like a club, brick, or 2×4 cut in my hand. The blade movements were too hard. I attached it to a metal wall and pulled my arm in and out at an angle. JUNKY compared to my Comelon. I went to another big store with a big name and checked them all out. Junky and weird bulky feeling. All leading brands, even professional versions. $10 more, I don't remember 25ft tapes costing less. Now that I think about it I don't care how long it takes for the return to slow down because looking back I WORKED hard on this tape, it paid off, all day. BTW the way it came loose was sudden it wasn't like it slowed annoyingly over a period of time and it still retracts fine if I tilt it up or push it a little, I just don't have time for this in difficult work situations. Buy it, it's cute.
