My wife and I decorated our bedroom wall with some old planks. I also installed a couple of wall lights on the new boards that plug into sockets on each side of the bed, like bedside lamps, but on the wall, like in a hotel. There's a front door switch on my side of the bed. We used this extension to give her a side light switch that can be mounted on the side or back of the bedside table where it would be hidden. It was the only derailleur extension we could find that had the derailleur on the end rather than somewhere in the middle. It worked great. The only downside for us is the length, it was a lot longer than we needed but for many people having a switch on a chair or sofa for a lamp or other device that isn't around would be just right. We just fixed the excess behind the bedside table. We are very happy with this extension cord and will definitely buy again and it wasn't even that much money. (The cable is attached to the bottom edge of the left bedside table in the picture, completely hidden)
