Purchased this after my Bodum French Press crashed due to low hanging cabinets (no fault of Bodum). Where I wanted my coffee, I opted for a stainless steel French Press. I've used this twice since today's date with no problems. In general, you don't give your French Press a deep clean with a hot water bath and a couple of dips to clean it down to coffee. In terms of coffee quality, it did very well. I am very happy with the performance. The only reason I'm deducting a star for ease of cleaning is because after stirring, I've already seen coffee stains coming off glass French presses with a simple wipe, not a stainless steel scraper. However, the durability and ease of use of this model overcomes all cleaning difficulties. That's a great coffee maker.
