Bought these tubes to store a set of contact resistors for use in my electronics class. I've been looking for an easy way to store these resistors in a small case and organize them so I can quickly find the values I need. Resistances are easy. The lids I've found have been set somewhere between reliable and frustrating as I couldn't get enough grip by simply pushing and pulling on the top, I actually had to get my nails into the bottom edge of the lid and with considerable force draw. I suppose it will get easier with use as the lid and tab on the tube wear out. I was able to get 15 1/4W resistors in a tube, which works well for my needs. My problem with these pipes is their taper. There is a significant cone between the opening and the base of this tube. This becomes even more apparent when you put the cap on the tube. This creates a situation where pipes, when run end-to-end or side-by-side in significant quantities, become unstable and disorganized. Given the number of resistors I'm dealing with (100+ different values between resistors and inductors), this creates an organizational nightmare in the parts box. As such, they work well for single devices and a small number of organizations, but not for my initial needs. .
