Reading other reviews I was a bit hesitant as I thought it wasn't strong but it's ok. Sure, the legs don't snap, but they're sturdy enough that they won't fall off when open. This is exactly what I was looking for. Any stand can fall on the bed, but if you use one you shouldn't have any problems. I only use it to turn on my keyboard while lying on the couch and it works great for my needs. The only downside would be that I was hoping to fit a laptop and keyboard on it, but it's not big enough for that, which is good as it can be set up easily enough for a keyboard tray and there's plenty of room underneath to fit. All in all a great table.
