Review on ๐Ÿญ Deluxe Critter Nation Cage: Midwest's Premier Midwest Edition for Optimal SEO by Jennifer Glasheen

The price is worth the time you save cleaning

I have had other cages but this is by far the easiest to clean. Most cages have very small doors that cannot be moved around and plastic shelves with snaps that you have to tediously remove to clean. The fact that the double-wide doors open fully and the shelves don't clip in makes cleaning that much faster. I have 2 of the 63 inch Critter Nations (one for male rats, one for females) and they both take about 3 hours to deep clean. It may seem like a lot of time, but some of that time I spend waiting for their fleeces and beds/hammocks to finish drying. When I got my first two rats I bought them a deluxe rat house from All Living Things and it took me 3 hours to clean it and it's just a cage and it's a league down from a double critter nation. I spent most of my time fighting stupid plastic clips on shelves that never seemed to want to slide in or out, trying to be a professional acrobat putting things in and out through small cage doors. This cage is also fun and easy to accessorise. Because the shelves have three height adjustments, this gives you a lot of control over where you put things, you can attach hammocks and other things to the bottom of the trays. You can also add extra lava ledges and bird perches for more vertical climbing. I partially deducted a star because the double-wide doors make it almost impossible to place lava ledges anywhere other than the front of the cage unless someone else helps you. In the end it doesn't really matter. As others have said, chances are your box will be damaged and the cage itself will be difficult to assemble. Both of my cages have small gaps in places where things just didn't line up properly, but the gaps are more cosmetic than anything else. They don't affect the stability of the cage and the rats can't get out of them or anything like that. It just looks bad. (Another reason I took off a star.) Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I've owned one of these DCNs for almost a year now, so I can say with complete confidence that they are built to last.
