So far, so good. in cats

Last fall we were adopted by my daughter's street cat, we moved from a big house to a tiny apartment and she was going to be a house cat. Pooh! I love my cat, she has been a greater blessing than I can say but I really want her to go to the bathroom! When I first made a tray (we were still in the old place trying to pack and move) I didn't have a shovel so I used a cheap slotted spatula (it was at a landfill). Huge problem! After we finally moved in, the only place in the apartment to put a SEAL was in the bathroom. I started comparing REAL trays (the first was actually a plastic box from one of those portable storage items and a spatula). I found a 3 piece strainer which I thought would be a great improvement. That was the case when I used clumping clay litter, but I still sifted the entire litter box at least twice a day (hey, I was a beginner. All the cats I've ever had have been street cats, but how true or not that Moving to an apartment meant the cat had to use the box). Then my dear friend told me about the "natural" bait (::::whisper::::.walnuts) which should be better for everyone, have less smell and dust and don't need to be changed so often my be next litter purchase. I know she meant well, but this stuff could get stuck in the sides and in the screen holes, not to mention ending up all over the bathroom AND the rest of the apartment! I even found it on my bedroom windowsill (2 rooms away!) where the kitty likes to sit. After this fiasco, I returned to clumping clay. I cleaned all the parts down to the screen and started again with a clay bed. We had to buy paw mats to try and keep the litter next to the box but that's still an issue. I still found clumps stuck to the sides and screen, and it was a shame to scrape them off. I regret not keeping the $1 spoon I bought after being so disappointed with the spatula but it stayed. So I ordered this one and now there is less swearing in the bathroom twice a day as the spatula is "stirred and scooped"! Yes, it was a long journey to get to the last part of the sensation, but I thought a bit of background knowledge would be needed ;). When you need to sift through cat litter, dirt or whatever. No photo. Looks the same as Revane's picture to the left of the stars :)
