I was looking for a reliable convection microwave oven. I've looked at a few other options, including brands like Toshiba and Samsung, but I'm glad I went with this one. Keep in mind that I do not seriously bake or cook with this product. As an average college student, I felt the need to have a microwave in my room, but I also needed something to reheat the occasional leftover like french fries or pizza without simply reheating the wet mush in the microwave. In that sense, this product is amazing! It's a bit big for my liking but I managed to put it on my mini fridge. I also used the extra space to put a dish rack on it. As a microwave, it's definitely more powerful than the average budget microwave. It heats my food fairly evenly, but there can be a few cold spots in the center at times, but nothing major. The convection function is incredibly handy and works very well. In many cases it has the potential to replace the traditional oven. The heating element is only on the top, but that's to be expected from a design perspective. When the convection function is on, there is a fan to help with heat distribution. My only downside is that it gets dirty on the inside very easily, especially on the back. No cleaning can make a difference, but other than that, I haven't had any problems with this microwave. If you want to build a convincing convection function into your microwave, don't compromise with the Cuisinart CMW-200.
