a very good choice for a day pack and/or gear bag.

I like the backpack in general; It's very well put together and has some very nice features. I've taken it on a few rides and it has almost no signs of wear. I mainly use it as a light everyday backpack and as a gear/electronics bag when travelling. I like being able to quickly flip it forward to get something out without taking it off; very convenient to airports and public transport. As great as it is, I have a few nagging issues with it, but nothing that beats the overall size. It has a "pocket" for a 14" laptop in the main compartment, which is good, but my 14" laptop fits very tight and it seems like it's quite possible to fit a 15" laptop, if they wanted. There's a spot behind the main back panel mount that looks like a fairly large hydration bladder will fit, but I haven't tried that yet. The main compartment also has a mesh stretch pocket that can safely stash just about anything you can put in, but I wouldn't pack anything in there that might damage my laptop, as the two pockets directly overlap when folded. While I appreciate that virtually every part of this case has a molle surface, I would appreciate it having at least one enclosed auxiliary compartment and one small mesh pocket with zipper on the back. , under the elastic undercarriage protection, but I wouldn't trust anything that couldn't take the hits or the elements. As an aside I'm planning on picking up some Molle compartments which should do the job but I need to figure out where to put them so they don't impede access to the compartments that are present whilst still being easy to reach when I need them need. The main shoulder strap is well padded and very comfortable even with heavy loads, and the webbing strap further relieves stress on the shoulders, though at the cost of losing the ability to quickly rotate the bag forward. Luckily, I've found that the lap belt wraps easily around your back and secures to you without getting in the way, but can be put back if you decide you need extra support. The main strap is also covered in molle and has a clip for attaching a hydration tube, but I've had a few moments where the clip would snag on a wire or piece of clothing and I was afraid of the plastic clip. would break hasn't happened yet. TL; DR: A very good backpack, despite some quirks that prevent it from earning the 5th star; If you are looking for a small to medium sized backpack with solid construction and quick access, I heartily recommend this one.
