I have two cats who like to scratch where they shouldn't. I bought them a scratching stick that used string instead of cardboard and I got tired of rewinding the stick when they were scratching it because it started to unravel. One problem I had was with velcro. The glue sticks very well. Really too good, but that's no problem. Velcro doesn't like Velcro. It's very weak, and when my cat tried to scratch the wall scratching post, she fell. Luckily I had a higher quality Velcro lying around and it's very strong now and I've added it on all 4 sides instead of just 2. I'll update once I know how long it takes my cats to destroy it, but see you now well.
