Ridiculously bad design

I bought this item to light up the lights in our garden. It seems amazing until you realize whoever designed it apparently never used a plug or socket. In fact, I never got to try it because of its totally flawed design. First, he suggests a plug that dangles and thus covers the second socket. As my outdoor fridge plug is a similar design this would mean either putting the fridge on a timer (not what you want) or using multiple adapters. But I think it's just one of those things. The really fun part is the alignment of the dual pins on the bottom of the timer that are installed upside down. Because of this (see image) the protrusion on the unit, which appears to be intended to cover the sockets to keep water out, again ensures that only a perfectly straight plug will work. If the prongs just pointed the other way there would be no problem as there is no lip on the back. The most annoying thing is that this is enough to not show up. FAIL
