Product arrived as with no issues. My contractor/plumber professionally installed this unit, tapping into my copper main line with brass fittings and blue PLEX piping. He installed a shut-off valve on both sides of the filter for easy issue resolution and maintenance. What I'm trying to say here is, it was professionally done by two plumbers. Once installed and turned on, there was a very tiny trickle on the right canister. We shut of the valves to unscrew the canister and check the rings/threads. The pressure valve was not working according to specifications. The plumber surmised that the water lines were installed backwards. The in-out lines were installed exactly according to the manual install instruction's diagram, but upon further investigation, we found an "IN" marked on the opposite side of the filter setup, so we had to reverse them. This is a pretty significant mistake on iSpring's part, because even if we had caught it prior to installation, was the misprint on the filter or the instruction manual? Okay so this cost me another $100 for additional install time, things happen.UPDATE 6 months later: Just so there is no confusion, this is not a reverse osmosis system, but a system that can be used as a pre-osmosis system. This distinction somehow confused me in my first review, which I am now correcting. Over the past 6 months, I noticed that the chemical smells, and eye stinging from the city water no longer existed. Also, I needed to clean the heavy sediment from the screens on my sink faucets, and shower heads about every 3 or 4 months. In the past 6 months, they are still clog free. This is quantifiable and physical proof that the iSpring is doing it's job.Today, I cracked open the system and replaced both cartridges; 1 charcoal, and 1 sediment. It's hard to physically determine if the carbon filter is at "end of life" by cutting it open and looking at it. The outer white wrapping was slightly yellow, but the charcoal core was perfectly in-tact, with no smells or gunk attached. The sediment filter was iron stained and had white sediment debris, which also collected at the bottom of the blue filter housing. All of this was extracted from city water. This fall, I will empty my electric water heater tank to determine how much sediment, if any, passed through the filters and collected in the tank.I would definitely purchase and install this system again
