I bought this bag to replace the bag that came with my sleeping bag. The bag that came with my sleeping bag had an open top with a small flap to cover the opening. The Nelson Rigg bag has a full top closure. The Nelson Rigg compression sack allowed my sleeping bag to be smaller in diameter and longer in length than the sack that came with the sleeping bag. This made it easier to tie on the outside of my backpack. This is the perfect bag to attach your sleeping bag to the outside of your backpack. My only complaint was that the buckle was a bit loose. After fiddling with it a bit, I tightened it up a bit. The bag will definitely serve the purpose I bought it for.
