The lights do not come with suction cups or other means to attach them to the side of the pool. I used Alien Tape, but that does not work underwater. I put them just above the water line. Also, the lights cannot be placed on the bottom (5 feet) as they don't pick up the remote signals. They look great at night on the side of the pool. If I were to buy submersible lights again, I would make sure there was a way to affix them underwater to the side of the pool.
