Review on πŸš— Revitalize Your Car's Bumper & Trim with Forever Car Black Kit (6oz Kit) by Tristan Graham

Revainrating 5 out of 5

1 app 2 years ago, still looks great!

UPDATE 21 months after application May 28th 2020: I have never reapplied and it still looks great! I bet if I reapply it now it might darken the black a bit (Florida sun and rain are brutal) but there is definitely no visible fading - no streaks or streaks. Only the black trim is still there - amazing! Original Review, August 2018: Nervous but SO SATISFIED with the result! This is exactly what I wanted instead of the silicone crap I used to use! I'm a person that's good at reading too many reviews before buying, especially for that since I basically paint my car all the time and there's no room for "oh I don't like that". But I was looking for something permanent since silicone patches never last more than a week in Florida's sun and rain. It sure looks like it! The product is like very thin paint, similar to ink. Be careful it will stain absolutely everything it touches including your car paint, hands, driveway etc. But it's good too - I've used it on bumpers, window trim, running boards, door handles. , and even the metal of my wipers where it's worn and showing through silver. This stuff goes with everything. My Nissan Xterra's fairing was originally GRAY, not even black, but now that I'm done it's beautiful, deep, even black, like I bought all new fairing pieces (which could have been easier, but a lot more). expensive). I'm as happy as it looks! It took a long time, but I'm a perfectionist. I was concerned about the streaks that people warned about in the reviews and when you apply the first and even the second coat you can definitely see the brush marks but when it cures after a day or two you don't see them . more. I apply two coats and still have over half of that 6 ounce bottle left. I didn't think my big SUV would go that far, even after reading the reviews, but it's true. Some application tips: 1. Don't forget to wash your car before applying. I hand washed it thoroughly with lots of dish soap and there were still a few small stains where the silicone I applied 7 months ago hadn't fully come out and neither could Forever Black penetrate. After giving it a day or two to cure they are barely noticeable and it still looks way better than the old faded car I had before.2. Set aside a day for this - it's a tedious project, but well worth the time. Also, find a shady spot so it doesn't burn before you can smooth it out. Have a few damp rags handy to IMMEDIATELY clean any areas that have come in contact with the car paint. He paints everything and everyone black. It's also a good idea to mask off the areas with masking tape. I didn't, I used cardboard and a wide spatula, and wet rags were still used quite a bit.4. Choose one direction to apply the first coat and once dry, apply the second coat in the other direction (left to right or top to bottom). This helps minimize visible brush strokes.5. Decide which details to paint and which not before you start - I got to the honeycomb grid in front and realized I should have just left the entire area gray because it was more trouble - and Q-Tips - than it was worth. Now that I'm "done," I see I need to go back and do a roof rack that I didn't have time to do in the first round. Of course I love this product and I love my car. especially now that he doesn't *look* like 15! Now I just really hope it survives the scorching sun and daily thunderstorms of the Florida summer. I will update my review if/if this happens.
