Made of compressed wood? Yes. Are the frames made of plastic? Yes. However, the pressed wood has a nice finish and the bars look solid. The display does not look cheap after the optimization. I've seen other more expensive work that looks very cheap when finished. With a corner post display, you don't have this problem. It's also easy to set up. From opening the box to setting it up in my room to assemble it took me 18 minutes. How can I be so sure? In the meantime I made pizza. The oven timer went off as I was tightening the last rod. In general, a corner display case is a good purchase. It is inexpensive and easy to assemble. I'll get another one if the price is right.
