This was our first introduction to stainless steel straws. They are well made, with no rough edges and are made of durable material that will easily last for years. The straws have an easy to read logo on one end. We had hard plastic straws like the ones that come with baby spill-proof cups that will stand up to years of repeated dishwasher cycles with ease. I've never used a straw brush in it and never had any problems. We understand the environmental pressure for reusable straws, but steel has a problem with the instantaneous temperature change in liquid, so it makes your fingers and lips really cold when you drink an iced drink and you can burn yourself when you use it to make to drink hot cocoa or tea (as some of us do). I think it's better to use silicone or ceramic as the straw material to avoid this particular problem. These straws are packaged as a commodity with no gift material, but can be easily taken out of the box. and retied as a stocking filler or similar gift.
