My 2012 Ford Escape had a power train failure (they say!) and the tailgate wouldn't open. We decided to buy it and try to fix it ourselves. My husband and I quickly replaced this part. The only issues we had were the bolts on the original drivetrain. We undressed 1 and tried to undress it. I ended up having to go to the store for a replacement. So my only complaint would be that I wish it had come with additional hardware. But that issue aside, it would have taken us less than 20 minutes to remove the back panel, remove the part, put in a new part, and reattach the back panel. It was so easy and I'm so glad we didn't take it to the store and pay someone else to do it.
