Review on HORUSDY Stripping Self Adjusting Automatic 0 2 6 0Mm² by James Bull

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good for stripping, fair crimping and cutting

Stripping was good, and in other cases where the insulation wasn't completely stripped, it was excellent. I wish it had a strip length printed on it, there are just a couple of etched lines on the plastic lever which leaves you guessing but it's no big deal. What let me down was the crimp capability. First, the caption is meaningless and a little confusing at best. It seems that all insulated crimps are made in the same place (just under the torch) and this is normal. What wasn't good was that the device kind of "slipped off" when closing for crimping like it does when using right handed scissors when you use them on your left hand. I wasted a lot of connectors as they weren't crimped tightly and I had to try again. I've never had this problem with a cheap $5 all in one power tool but it went away so I bought this one. As a result, it lost a star for poor crimpability. Trimming as you might think would be an easy task, but I was having a hard time getting all the strands into my 10 AWG and 12 AWG wires. It was surprising and disappointing again, and here another star was lost. I'll keep it as I know very little about electricity but if I use it regularly it would come back. *** EDIT October 17th. , 2021*** This is how this multifunctional electric wire stripper quickly rolls down. I was going to use it to make some connections and the "cutter blade" can no longer cut the main 16 AWG stranded wire (I've made about 10 cuts since I bought it), the crimper went bad and I had to make a Use Leatherman needle. Now nose pliers to start crimping and then pray the 'tool' can finish it. I really can't recommend this for long-term use or even a one-off project that requires more than 10 cuts and crimps. Downgraded from 3 to 2 stars but it probably only deserves 1 star.
