A solenoid is a solenoid - they all magnetically open and close a small valve when energized. This all-in-one model costs three times less than mainstream humidifier brands and works just as well. Thank you for a set of brass connectors and fittings that the big boys who charge three times the price never think of. The only minor downside to this item is that the mounting bracket may not screw into your existing holes, but then you can easily swap out the brackets. When reassembling you will need some thread paste or teflon tape.
