If you're looking for something very simple and affordable to give you peace of mind, then this is what you need. To be honest I'm impressed with the image quality for the price. The night vision is pretty amazing. The picture in my room is dark but not pitch black, the picture outside is pitch black. The alerts work well, annoyingly well, but you can adjust the sensitivity or set a schedule etc. Love the fact that it comes with two 32GB memory cards so you're up and running right out of the box. Setup was very easy. Literally download the app, plug in the camera, grab the camera and scan the barcode that shows up on your phone to sync it and you're watching live. Playback is my only gripe, with even the smallest slide going forward or backward by a few minutes. It's difficult to pinpoint the exact time, but not impossible. Maybe it would be better if it only recorded when motion is detected, but I just leave it on all the time. The speakers work very well, I can talk to my dog while she is lying on my bed. It was a breach of the terms of the contract. You can also hear the microphone in the camera so you can use it as a baby monitor or hear your wife's friend. I know they are indoors but I put one by the window and it worked great during the day but at night there was nothing but infrared glare. I just decided to screw it on and mount it outside under the carport where things really don't get damaged by the weather. Everything seems fine this morning, no dew on the lens or anything and I've added photos to show. I'll update the review if I totally screwed up, but at the price I doubt I'll go crazy anyway. Edit: About a week outside under a canopy and no noticeable changes or damage at all. Works perfect. I wouldn't put it where it can definitely rain. I will update again after a while. Added new photo at midnight, still strong outside. Have both cameras record and play back events much better. 5 months update! Added new timestamp image to evidence. The external camera still works. Recently I noticed that it would disconnect from time to time and found that the power cord would fail due to the weight of the extension cord pulling on it. Micro USBs are used for everything so that's not really a problem, most people have thousands of them these days. The bedroom cam is still great because it doesn't compress the cable. Otherwise literally no problems other than occasional warnings from curious critters :)
