Review on Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II USM 📷 Lens: Perfect for Canon DSLR Cameras - Fixed-Focus Excellence by Swami Swami ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

No, the main aperture in this little thing is not. The main thing is drawing. I rented a lens several times before buying. Actually, for doubters, this is the most reasonable testing option. After I found out that it’s not bad for them to shoot not only portraits, but the whole event like a wedding, I decided to purchase it. In general, my opinion about this lens is that the best qualities are revealed in good light (here the lens will give odds to almost all Canon lenses), and in poor lighting the situation is as follows: half of the frames are in the trash due to brake autofocus, half are “masterpieces”. Here in the comments they write that this is m. B. associated with the second mark, which I shoot. Compared to my 24-70 2.8L, the fixed catches more light, more volume, sharper, at aperture 2.8 it produces a more pleasant picture and bokeh. Very delicately and creatively handles color and volume. I didn’t want to write a review while I was very in love with glass, but now, when emotions have subsided, I consider the lens to be the main one, both in the studio and on the street. Yes, it’s heavy, yes, it’s slow, it’s lame, but these shortcomings can be dealt with, but it’s almost impossible to get a picture like his with other glasses. And so much so that an inexperienced viewer notes all these “magic colors” as soon as he sees the result!

Pros
  • Picture, aperture (working aperture 1.2), color reproduction, volume, bokeh. A solid look and an object of pride :)
Cons
  • Weight, slow AF, minimum focusing distance of almost a meter
