Comes with zero spacer. Our first arrived with a huge cracked piece that was missing. They immediately sent a replacement. The second came with a small tear in one place, I just left it because I couldn't repackage and ship it. My mother-in-law had these gates for years. So I figured I might as well buy the same brand because they have excellent ones. It is much stronger than what we received. Our plastic seems to be much more flexible. The goal is really a joke. I read the reviews but for the price decided to give it a try as I have a 7 year old who finds it difficult to step over it. I can't even open the gate with two hands without much effort. Totally useless gate. They came assembled which is nice. But it is very difficult to bend the pieces and form an octagon. I'm afraid that every time I try to bend it it will just tear and break. It's hard to do.
