I bought Japanese white 1 carbon steel knife 210mm Gyoto and blue 2 carbon steel knife Nakiri 165mm, I believe in Kansai. Due to the need to keep them dry (not rust free) I didn't want to use a block. I was afraid it wouldn't hold her well. Sharp puts it mildly. It can be very bad to confuse them. This block is very strong on these knives. It was a little less than I expected. As you can see, 240mm is probably too long. Most people will be 210mm or less. Most likely only 3 knives fit in here. The quality seems to be very good for pressed bamboo. I am very happy with it as they put them in safe access. Nice finish and compact so it sits nicely on the counter.
