The base is too light, only the top half is magnetized

I've been using it for 2 months now. What a good idea, but bad execution! The base (metal part) is too light so it lifts up when I try to pull out the knife. I have to hold the base with one hand every time or everything falls over; Also, only the top half has a magnet, which unnecessarily limits its capacity. Apart from what was mentioned above, the magnet is very strong. The appearance is concise and concise.

Nice compact storage

I love the compact size of this knife block but it's still big enough to hide some everyday kitchen essentials behind the board. The knives have been standing for a week and have not fallen off. Also, a pair of scissors (which doesn't lay the plug completely flat in the middle) feels very secure. I have no problem getting the knives off the block as long as I pull the handles up instead of pulling straight towards me. The chef's knife is a bit sticky, but it has a lot more metal in contact with

Strong magnets that hold very sharp knives.

I bought Japanese white 1 carbon steel knife 210mm Gyoto and blue 2 carbon steel knife Nakiri 165mm, I believe in Kansai. Due to the need to keep them dry (not rust free) I didn't want to use a block. I was afraid it wouldn't hold her well. Sharp puts it mildly. It can be very bad to confuse them. This block is very strong on these knives. It was a little less than I expected. As you can see, 240mm is probably too long. Most people will be 210mm or less. Most likely only 3 knives fit in here…

Basis Weight Issue

So other reviewers have pointed out that basis weight is an issue. For a paring knife, that's no big deal. But with a 9-inch chef, or something even larger like a cleaver, there's no way to pull the knife out of the holder with one hand. You either have to press down on the base with something or hold the base with your other hand while you pull out the knife. However, there is a slightly non-intuitive alternative: instead of immediately pulling the knife, try twisting the knife in front of you

There is a simple trick to using this knife block with one hand

I got this back almost confused after such a good review. I loaded the block with knives first and found that unless you hold the block with one hand and take out the knife with the other, you can't take one without knocking the damn thing over. Then I watched the video and saw that they don't have this problem. There is a nifty trick that allows you to remove the knives with one hand without pulling out the whole block due to the powerful magnets. You need to rotate the knife so that only the…

I like it but there are problems…

When it arrived I was so happy. It was beautiful to look at and it was so helpful. I have 5 knives that I use all the time and they are perfect for this. Bamboo is wonderful. The magnet held the knives in place. Then winter came, the house dried up, and gaps appeared between the strips of bamboo. It looks like the "block" is cracking. My husband, an engineer, explained what was wrong with the way it was put together and said it would likely swell (although not close) in wet weather. Knives…

Perfect for my needs

Exactly what I was looking for! I only use 3-4 knives and probably 85% of that is a kitchen knife. I like to try/buy different brands of knives and have a few relatively expensive ones, I didn't want the edges knocking on the drawer or seeing if they would fit in a random block. It's perfect. For me, a good knife is like art and that shows it off beautifully. Bamboo is really high quality and strong. The magnet is strong and holds even the shortest steak knives in place. The pair of knives can…

Great space saver for chef's knives up to 9 inches long.

I chose this one because I wanted it to only hold my three most important chef's knives. I have limited desk space and rarely use other kitchen utensils. I bought a metal magnetic bar to mount on the wall but the magnets were too weak to hold the blades securely and I found that the main power goes into the house and the electrical box is directly on the other side of the wall is . right behind the only wall mount I had and traditional knife holders are too bulky and have dull blade edges. This
