Can only be mounted one way!

I ordered these hoping to mount them to a right wall. Unfortunately these are made to only work on a left wall. If you mount them the other way, the gravity latch doesnt work. The plunger will go in but not latch properly and pop back out.I consider myself a handy person and thought maybe it could be modified to work, but after taking one apart I determined that it is not possible due to how it is manufactured. One could, in theory, mount it "upside down" and it may work but its impractical for my project.
