I thought the product was a bargain after listening to the broadcast for the first time. Good volume (at 50%), clear sound and my weak signal AM sports radio was just great. The 2nd shower at maximum volume was half as loud as the first day at half volume. 3. Shower nothing. No sound, no clock. I went to replace the batteries and found new rust and water in the "waterproof compartment" although the radio was away from the shower spray so this waterproof radio was never exposed to water, only the occasional splash which shouldn't be a problem for anything , which is waterproof, not to mention waterproof. I dried the radio, put new batteries in the next evening, but still nothing. The company (Pyle) and Revain did a great job with a replacement arriving the next day. The replacement was just as good with the same original good volume (at 50% volume), clear sound and my weak AM sports radio signal. After 1 week the volume was half at the maximum (compared to the 1st day at 50% volume. No more sound in the middle of the 2nd week. It turned out that all 3 AAA batteries (new Duracell Quantums with an expiration date 2027) ) were dead after only 1.5 weeks of use. I replaced all 3 batteries and the radio worked but the volume (maximum) was still half as loud as it was at half volume when first used. The radio limped along at half volume (at maximum setting) for another week and a half. Then nothing, all 3 (new) batteries were dead again. I put in the 3rd set of new Duracell Quantums but nothing this time. Needless to say I'm done with this radio. It's not even worth investing time in sending back a replacement, I've already bought the much more expensive (and highly priced) Sangean H205 from Revain which just arrived I hope Is this one worth the price?
