Review on πŸ’Ž The Ultimate Compact Ceramic Diamond Sharpener for Precision Sharpening by Josh Koa

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fantastic Small Stone

This stone is damn good for "soft" pocket knives. I picked one up to see if it would be useful in sharpening Boy Scouts and it wasn't too bad. (I used an AUS-8 pocket knife for evaluation.) The diamond side eliminated burrs quickly, while the ceramic side left a perfectly workable sharp edge. After finishing this edge with green chrome oxide tape I was able to get a razor blade pretty easily. So with this stone and a small wood/leather sling you can get a compact sharpening system for about $10 if you already have the connection. The ceramic surface wasn't perfect, but it served its purpose well and didn't require any additional finishing. That being said, I'm pretty good at hand sharpening, and it took a lot of pressure to fully "enclose" the blade on a stone this size. For beginners I usually recommend a jig system (like Lansky) for best results with minimal practice, but if you're looking for a CHEAP little two-faced rock you can do a lot worse!

Pros
  • πŸ”ͺFunction: This diamond knife sharpener can be used for any items you want to sharpen and polish, including kitchen cutlery, scissors, outdoor tools or pocket knives, also suitable for garden tools.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
