Review on ๐Ÿงฝ BLANCO 221010 Stainless Steel Sink Grid: Superior Kitchen Sink Rack and Protector for DIAMOND Sinks by Ricky Habbani

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Cool looking food waste siphon

It's beautiful (still new) and protects your sink (sort of), but that's also a problem. This is definitely a high performance grille, but we found it very difficult to clean and just not worth the effort. We've gone from a huge beautiful sink that's easy to clean to a mess. This grate will catch anything you put in the sink, especially spaghetti and salad. I don't get it unless you have a maid to clean this guy the manufacturer DOES NOT put in the dishwasher. The grate rests on legs with small plastic covers/boots which are another place to catch food. The grille also has protective plastic bumpers on the sides that we found the hard way to come loose. All those plastic parts are essential to life, but they probably won't last long. Then what, duct tape? The grate fits our Blanco sink almost perfectly, although if I were to design it I would make it a bit larger and flip the sink ring on the underside. Also, expect your sink to lose almost 2 inches of depth. We paid $78.10 with free shipping and got it back at our expense - UPS wanted over $30 and USPS $15 - expensive lesson - don't always trust reviews. My advice is to skip this and buy a silicone mat if you feel the need to protect your sink. FYI, we only cook on (very) heavy anodized aluminum Caphelon pans. We've gone from a Kohler porcelain sink to a Blanco Silgranit and definitely don't feel the need to protect this piece of stone. Kohler requires constant effort while Blanco requires no effort. live a little boys I will say that the trellis looked really cool, in contrast to my great grandmother's clear plastic lampshade covers and her clear plastic sofa covers. When you buy this grille, you are buying the 21st century equivalent of what my great grandmother would have bought. (RIP) Update 3/7/15: We've been using our Truffle Blanco sink for over 4 months now and it still looks brand new. Not a single scratch or abrasion. And surprisingly, our hard water doesn't seem to affect the look in any way. We have never had to use olive oil. We have used Bar Keepers Friend Liquid twice. It's a good thing we don't have to deal with it much. Updated 06/27/2016; We love our sink and it still looks brand new! Our sink is used and abused. We use liquid Bar Keepers Friend. I'm glad we brought back the "feed trap".
