Review on Dell 452-BCYT D6000 Universal Dock in Black: A Hassle-free Single Solution by Pete Martin

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works great with my Dell XPS 9560 (Win 10 Pro) and MacBook Pro (Retina 13 " Early 2015)

MacBook Pro (Retina 13" Early 2015). I installed the DisplayLink drivers and Dell recommended drivers and have been using them ever since. In fact, I just bought my second one to use on location for my commissioned work. The 9560 *TACHS* it, but you get a BIOS AC adapter warning, but you can turn it off (and also for general use to save 9560 battery life). For the MacBook, I downloaded the DisplayLink driver and used the USB-3 adapter on the plug (I have USB-C models) and the built-in display and both Dell monitors look amazing. It's great to only carry 1 plug (or 2 if you need an AC adapter for heavy use). I've experienced mouse wobbling from time to time, but this only occurs when the regular AC adapter is connected. I also used the Alpha DisplayLink drivers. for my Dell and it helped. The sound is good, I can use gigabit ethernet on my laptop and have extra ports and much cleaner cables. I'm glad I have this and I'm sure it will work for other laptops later. I got a lot about a site that rhymes with Hamill x3. See also warehouse deals, that's where it comes from. UPDATE July 2018 After living with this for a while I need to snap some stars. 4k doesn't handle that very well. Whether you're editing text or surfing with the _only Power Dock_, you'll literally hear her squeak in pain as she tries to keep up and display content. YouTube loses sync in full screen so it looks like an old dubbed kung fu movie. If you use CorelDRAW! or the like, it often crashes because the dock's video chip can't handle it. Using the laptop's HDMI output solves these issues, but doesn't help much in a dual 4K setup. If you need graphics performance while driving a pair of 4K monitors, I need to use an eGPU and a Quadro chassis. or GTX 1070 with Thunderbolt 3 output for reconnecting LAN, audio, etc.
