Review on πŸ’‘ UView 413010 Leak Detection Light, Battery Powered with 6 LEDs by Robert Sisco

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Enormous time and money savings!

I used this flashlight in combination with a bottle of Tracer Products TP34000601 UV Fluorescent Leak Detection Dye - 6 Pack (also a 5* product - see this review for details). That flashbulb and the dye mentioned above, the fuel leak in our car's engine bay looked like molten lava flowing out. I could not find any leak in the white light. This flashlight has an aluminum body and end caps. It has o-rings so it should be able to withstand the elements. A nice feature is that it can be turned on intermittently by pressing the button on the butt cap or permanently by screwing the butt cap onto the barrel. The light was bright enough to easily spot the leak, although I was working under the proverbial "shadow tree" when in use. I walked around the house after dark to look for urine stains. The light output seemed strong, but no spots were found other than the dustbin. Beautiful kitty! At first I thought the included amber glasses were just to protect the wearer's retinas from ultraviolet radiation, but they actually increase the contrast of the fluorescent light. They're pretty good quality too. There was no noticeable optical distortion and they were well protected in transit. Using this combination of UV and fluorescent dye has saved me a lot of time and money when repairing our car!
