Whilst I think this is a great starter set I also have to say that many of the tools in this set were replaced very quickly. The cutting mat is quite small. I replaced this with an actual cutting mat and pound board. The hammer annoyed me, I never had the feeling that I was driving the matrices deep enough to work the leather. I also bought higher quality needles and punches. Everything else worked fine, but it really depends on what you want to do in the leather shop. If you're looking to give someone a starter kit that covers the basics that's a good way to go, but if you know you want to do something (Chrome wallets, just tools, etc.) I'd lower the price if you buy could be smaller tools that are better for the same or similar cost.
