Review on GE WD15X10014 Authentic Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve - Genuine OEM Product by Michael Morgan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

GE Profile GLD8760N20SS dishwasher won't stop filling. That was the solution.

My 12 year old GE Profile GLD8760N20SS dishwasher kept pouring water and ended up flooding the entire kitchen floor. The water continued to flow even after the reset button was pressed to flush the water and turn off the machine. The intake valve wasn't difficult to replace, but you will end up with a broken joint or two because there isn't much room in the lower left front where the valve is located. You have to pull out the dishwasher to get enough space. The best access point is on the left. Be sure to turn off the power before you begin as the area you will be working on will have wires running and water will spill out if you disconnect the hoses. As another reviewer said, the brass elbow fitting is HERE. I found that by unhooking the black hose at first I had more room to work on loosening the fitting. Aside from loosening the brass fitting, the hardest part was aligning the mounting hole and re-tightening the screws. The holes on mine weren't drilled quite correctly, so I had to bend the metal tab on the bracket and apply some pressure to tighten the screws. Aside from that and making sure the hoses are pointing the same way (back in my case), it only took about an hour. $20 and an hour is way better than a new $700 dishwasher. The woman was happy afterwards.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Hard to say
