This works as a quick check between weekly water changes and water parameter checks. This isn't a replacement for the test suite, but it helps on the face of it. I had to dose my aquarium with KanaPlex and after 2 treatment cycles AmmoniaAlert showed me my ammonia was high when it read 0.05. I checked my water test kit and found my scores were around 1.0. AmmoniaAlert only shows the ammonia level in the water, but the water test kit shows a combination of ammonia and ammonium. I think that's why there was a difference in numbers. While I may be wrong, as I said, this works as a quick check between water changes and water checks.
