The motor assembly has a thin cylindrical plastic body that is held in place by a screw. The motor and fan, which rotate inside the case, only have a gap of about a millimeter. Simply touching the case or anything other than crisp white gloves can cause the motor to start rubbing and make all sorts of annoying noises while running. This plastic element also protrudes significantly from the device and is easy for someone to trip over or step on. Lifting a unit to move it can cause it to be knocked off center if mishandled. After reporting all this to Garmin, they immediately accused me of damaging the device and wanted to charge $200 to replace the node with another one, which of course would cause the same problem. I can only assume this thing is still in production because most people just aren't sensitive to the loud noises it will inevitably make over time as the device is handled and subjected to daily use. Garmin customer service's accusation of consumers was particularly appalling as I was actually doing them a favor by even calling them - my full refund was received by the reseller. Overall probably the worst product experience I've had in years.
