good: these items are generally good quality

I bought these for my D&D 5E campaign. My players are all level 12. First the good: these things are generally good quality. They are plastic, attractive, well assembled and obviously don't go to waste. This is a great idea in concept. Unfortunately, some of the writing is off-center, causing the number to sometimes not fully appear when the wheel is spun. Now for the bad: Was it (obviously?) a product originally developed for Magic, or a simple... "spin counter" tracking system. Since they're redesigned for RPGs, I miss them. Using D&D 5E as an example, they track the following: Only one bonus ranging from -2 to +4. Why the bonus doesn't hit +5, the general cap of 5E bonuses, I have no idea. And the gods will help you if you play Pathfinder. -2 is also a headache. Since many PCs often get multiple attacks at higher levels, you can also only track one bonus. Hitpoints range from 0 to 209. However, temporary HP or negative HP is not tracked, so functionality is somewhat limited. While the status effects are very, VERY generic, they don't match the many 5E effects (let alone Pathfinder) at all. All in all a great idea, but VERY limited due to the general nature of the stats covered and a limited number of them. I found it easier and quicker to write down the horsepower than to fiddle with the wheels. All flash, little substance. Still. Someday I plan to do Basic Fantasy or BECMI D&D with my kid and I see these trackers are very popular with kids. The tracker is "not ready for prime time". If it's designed specifically for the 5E or has additional trackable items like spell slots for example, I'd find it useful.
