I bought my machine used. The HP 4100 Laser is a tank in the world of computer printers. I've had one for ten years and it still runs like a beast. I've read at least 250,000 pages through this thing. Installation can be problematic at times, depending on how I'm feeling. My settings have changed from some PCs and Macs to all Macs. Never had any compatibility issues. It helps if you use HP Jetconnect, HP's proprietary installer. It's old but still very helpful. One thing I've noticed is that true HP laser tuples are getting more expensive and not very good quality. It is better to be restored with a guarantee. It no longer makes sense to buy a genuine HP printer with this printer.
