Review on Top-Quality Stainless Filter Housing Cartridges in America: A Comprehensive Guide by Russell Robertson

In general, the quality is good, but the seals are leaking!

I bought this item for my camper van hoping it would be the last one I would ever need. At $85 it's not cheap but I thought it was well made with great welds and finishes. However, it will leak at moderate pressure (40psi)! Initially I found the 3/4" NPT threaded inlet and outlet holes to be a bit oversized and it took a few tries and lots of teflon tape to get a tight fit and seal. But then I had a problem with leaks around the silicone O-rings It looks like they are special O-rings (no O-rings) and to date I have not been able to find a replacement I was able to contact the seller and they asked for a photo of the problem but have since they didn't reply or sent me replacement o-rings.Other reviews on this product report poor internal sealing of the double open filter cartridge. The inner bottom of the housing is convex like a wine bottle and you need to be careful about the cartridge bottom and top to center to ensure a tight fit against the cartridge rubber washers fits between the housing and the filter cartridge so I have no complaints about that other than the balancing that goes with the centering of the filter cartridge is required.

Pros
  • MATERIAL - Stainless steel is highly corrosion resistant. High quality 304 stainless steel with excellent abrasion resistance.
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
