I bought two of these bread boxes as gifts for my parents as they bake bread all the time. They are very happy with this box and are impressed with how well it keeps the bread they bake fresh. The box itself is made of hard plastic, which is simply closed with a latch. You can put any size loaves of bread in it which is great! Very easy to clean and store when not in use. The box is transparent so you can see your bread instead of opening it. My parents told me that it keeps their bread fresh for a week. Also, it doesn't soften the bread. While producing a crispy crust, it keeps the bread in perfect condition without losing the crust. Both of my parents love this bread box and are very happy with it. This is a product I would definitely recommend. By the way, my parents have birds that love bread! When my parents watch, they run into the kitchen to bite off a piece of bread that might be on the counter. When the bread is in the bag, they destroy it to get the bread. Now with the bread basket, the birds can't get the bread and didn't damage the bread basket. My parents feed them bread, but at least they don't make a mess like they used to. So if you have animals that like to eat your bread on the counter, this is a great way to store it without missing pieces of the loaf.
